Within were from the suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland. Part of the Towson-Glen Arm movement, they played their own style which mixed garage punk, noisecore, and experimental music. Usually operating as a trio, the band members included (at different times from 1993 to 1995) Mike Apichella, Lisa Starace, Claire Mysko, Tim Kabara, and Lou Thomas.
