Brian Newell, Sean Grieve, Jessica Larrabee, Jason Schefflin, and Charles Tran formed The English System in the Spring of 2001. Within a month, they had written and recorded a four song EP, casually referred to as “the Diner EP,” which gained quick recognition in the Philadelphia and South Jersey music scene. The English System have share the stage with indie-rock notables such as Liars Academy, Breaking Pangaea, The Reputation, Zero Zero, Pop Unknown and many others. Their first full length, “Banded Blue” was recorded in the Spring of 2002, and is out now on Limekiln Records. The band just finished several mini-tours in the central and eastern U.S. and are planning an expanded tour this summer.
