Loeschen

Loeschen 12″ LP

Black Vinyl

When Frank von Abfall Records pressed the first sign of life of this Zurich five-pack into his paw paw, he said by the way that for him the sound was a symbiosis of bomb alarm and chaos Z. That with Loeschen definitely no peace-joy-pancake-fun-punk await me was ultimately confirmed by the fact that Frank also gave me the information that Ashkara band personnel were at the start who are not necessarily known for overflowing optimism. Consequently, there is a very dark HC-Punk mixture on the ears, which extends over a length of eleven tracks, which through song parts, which create a menacingly cool atmosphere, but suppress their actual intensity, create thrilling arcs of tension, that ultimately discharge in rough outbursts of anger. Powerful, straight drum beats, a dark, distorted bass, two deeply tuned guitars and pissed-off hopelessness radiating vocals merge into a terrifying sound that is characterized on the one hand by melancholy and on the other by aggression. This mixture is most evident for me in the song “Allei” (“Alone”), which conveys an incredibly blatant degree of despair musically and reminds me of the chaos Z song “Lonely”. This despair is broken by the subsequent D-Beat attack called “For eu nid” (“For you not”). In view of the above, but also other song titles, such as “No step further”, “Knecht”, “Rubble” or “Silence”, it becomes clear that the gray everyday sadness of decay and loneliness is reflected in a society characterized by dull consumption and exploitative capitalism like a thread running through the Swiss lyrics. Incidentally, all the lyrics as well as their associated English-language translations can be found printed on the LP inner sleeve.
