Lazy Legs
Tower – Cassette Tape
Lazy Legs is a shoegaze/grunge band out of Portland, Oregon who have been at it for a while now. Their newest album Tower stretching their sound to include elements of slowcore and ambient pop, covering themes of isolation, decay, and rebirth.
Opening on a slow, punky little riff on an undistorted guitar, the song slowly transforms into something delicate and somber. As the fuzzy guitars start to come in, they’re perfectly contrasted against the femme vocals, making for something that’s definitely noisy but also undeniably beautiful. There’s a definite Pixies-esque loud-quiet-loud formula going on in this song, which really emphasizes the loud moments in the song. With a track this layered and nuanced, it seems a good sign that Tower is going to be a killer record. — New Noise Magazine
