Underdog Fanzine review:
LMI - Excess Subconscious 12" LP

The predominantly destructive orientation produces an aggressive sound, which is accompanied by psychotic-insane vocals

Full Review:

Lazy Middle-Class Intellectuals combine dissonant riffs, noise rock and HC as a hard-to-digest conglomerate based on a rustic sound structure. Elements from jazz let the riffing sound almost free and improvised and loosen up the otherwise compact sound structure. The predominantly destructive orientation produces an aggressive sound, which is accompanied by psychotic-insane vocals. The ghosts I called … leave trauma and frightening shadows behind. The sometimes interspersed guttural singing and the flexible playing leave traces. The progressive, almost avant-garde sound of each song allows a rhythmic variety, which is equipped by a variable process. The characteristics in ‘Excess Subconscious’ are interwoven with a strongly integrative power of playful freedom, which is lived out by difficult to recognize basic patterns and tempo variations.
