Stolen Equipment

On Monday May 1st, my car was broken into while parked underneath the Brooklyn-Queens-Expressway at Union Avenue. I normally park in front of my apartment, but I had to move my car for Monday morning street-cleaning, and I was running late for work, so I took the first spot that was available. I normally don’t leave music equipment in my car overnight either, but…well, you can see where this is going.

Some asshole smashed the back right window (the small triangular one, as opposed to the larger one that rolls down), reached around and unlocked the door, and got inside. For reasons unknown, the perp took my freaking glasses from the compartment between the front seats, before popping the trunk and discovering the motherload:

  • Marshall JCM2000 Amplifier Head
  • Richenbacher 4001 Bass Guitar
  • Boss DS-1 Distortion Pedal
  • Boss BF-3 Flanger Pedal
  • Boss GEB-7 Bass Equalizer Pedal
  • Boss CS-3 Compression Sustainer Pedal

I called the police, who came and filed a report. They lifted some fingerprints, but they could very well be mine, so I’m not trying to get my hopes up. I do think that it’s a lot of stuff for one person to just carry off, and both the amp head and bass case have distinguishing marks on them.

The plastic white “Marshall” logo on the JCM2000 has been altered to say “MOSH HARD”

The Rickenbacker bass case was black with a white “SF” (San Francisco) logo on the top.

The amp head was mine, but the rest of the gear belonged to my friend/bandmate. I am desperately trying to locate any of the above items. If anybody happens to see any of this stuff around NYC or NJ, please contact me asap! I will figure out some sort of reward.
